Each letter is told in a folkloric, story-like way, but the traditions, recipes, and remedies inside are factual, gathered from lived experiences, elders’ memories, oral histories, research, and historians. Every envelope carries the spirit of Croatia with it: the scent of herbal teas, the laughter from family tables, and the magic of folklore passed down through generations.

These letters are for the curious, the nostalgic, and the wandering hearts. For Croatians and diaspora longing to reconnect with their roots, or anyone who wants to touch a homeland full of story, soul, and enchantment. Illustrated and thoughtfully crafted, each one arrives in your real mailbox, because some things are too special to live only on a screen. These aren’t just stories; they’re bridges between generations, between lands, between who we were and who we’re becoming.

✨ How It Works:

Your first letter is sealed and sent within a few days as a welcome from the woods. Future letters (if part of a subscription or ongoing adventure) will be mailed around the middle of each month (the 15th).

🧚 Teta Žofa's Little Helpers' Letters

Magic, Mischief, and a Dash of Croatian Folklore

Sometimes when the moon is high and the mist curls just right , Teta Žofa shrinks just a little, sprouts wings that shimmer like embroidery, and tiptoes through the forest in search of adventure.

These letters are written for little wanderers, big dreamers, and curious hearts. In every envelope, you’ll find a hand-illustrated story bursting with enchantment : a tale set in a real region of Croatia, where Teta Žofa must solve a riddle, help a forest creature, or uncover a hidden secret with the help of her herbal satchel and a touch of courage.

Inside they’ll find:
🧺 A short story adventure from a new region
✏️ A drawing (for colouring) or activity prompt
🌿 A folklore or plant fact made simple
📖 ALittle Language Card with fun Croatian words to say aloud

The first letter will come with a small package of cue cards to help the young readers with their Croatian alphabet practice as well as a language card to use with each letter to unravel the meaning of some mysterious words!

Whether your child has Croatian roots or simply loves folklore and nature, these letters are a monthly invitation to imagine, learn, and feel a little more connected to something timeless.
